A dark bay horse canters around the snowy pasture; what could have disturbed him in the middle of the night? A young red-headed girl sits up in her bed, hearing the thunder of hooves close to her bedroom windows. Then she hears the culprits; a long wailing cry of a coyote suddenly becomes a chorus! She quickly runs down the hallway to her parent’s room. “Mom, Dad! I think the mare has dropped her foal early! The coyotes are back!”
